James was one of the founder members of Arbuthnot Commercial Asset Based lending in 2018 and heads up the Operations and Risk function with responsibility for the structuring and approving of new facilities, client management and risk.

Since launching, Arbuthnot have delivered over £450 million of facilities to SMEs and mid market businesses.

James has 30 years’ experience in the asset-based lending industry including audit, client management and underwriting. He has held a number of executive roles including Head of Underwriting at RBS ABL and Risk Director at GE Commercial Finance.
