Steve Biglands in skilled in high risk negotiation techniques and will assist TMA delegates to understand “non- business ways” to deliver a solution. He has a degree in Politics, an MA in International Relations and an MSc in Terrorism Studies. Steve has been a Police Officer for 26 years; specifically his skills are in relation to Firearms Command. Steve has been a Tactical Firearms Commander for 13 years, a Specialist Firearms Commander for 5 years and delivers the Specialist Firearms Commander Development Program for UK Commanders. This course prepares Commanders for leading the most complex firearms operations.
Previously Steve has been the Airport Commander at Gatwick and currently leads for Surrey and Sussex Police in relation to all aspects of Armed policing and Protective Security. Steve has deployed as a Firearms Commander at the G7 and the COP26 Climate Conference, as well as being involved in a number of other national armed policing operations. Steve is regularly called upon to review the deployments and command decisions of other Firearms Commanders across the UK and is considered a Subject Matter Expert in Firearms Command.
