TMA UK are delighted to welcome John Chetwood and John Whiteoak - Herbert Smith Freehills LLP as their guest speakers for the evening.
Many of the TMA's members will be familiar with the key legal issues facing boards where a company is in distress. The speakers will set the brief legal scene for the considerations directors commonly face when there are financial difficulties and simplify the decision making process. They will then overlay practical experience dealing with shareholder and other stakeholder action and how this can influence (if at all) that decision making process. The speakers will then comment on how developing trends, including the DBEIS "Insolvency and Corporate Governance" consultation issued on 20 March 2018, and recent high profile insolvencies may influence approaches of boards going forward.
Following on from our guest speakers TMA UK welcomes Gary White - Aspen Waite
Gary will speak about his often humorous life experiences as a lower league football chairman in Essex, as well as his time as a director of League One Colchester United and his involvement in a potential take over of West Ham United a few years back.
