For our first TMA NOW event of 2018 we are delighted to welcome Stephen Blair and Emma Jones as our guest speakers.
Our topic for the morning is: Please Sir - I want some more. Practical pointers on how women can achieve improved salary conditions and promotional prospects, both in the turnaround and restructuring community and elsewhere.
About the speaker/s
Stephen Blair - Senior Equity Partner, the Head of the Corporate Department, Head of the Corporate Restructuring Department and a member of my firm’s Management Board of RadcliffesLeBrasseur.
Stephen is a solicitor and partner of RadcliffesLeBrasseur. Stephen is head of the firm’s corporate department and also, head of corporate restructuring. A member of RadcliffeLeBrasseur’s management board and finance committee, Stephen has approaching 20 years of turnaround experience, advising on both solvent and insolvent transactions. Stephen’s clients span a broad range of market sectors, he acts for private equity houses, venture capitalists and private investment businesses, funds, lenders and management teams. Previously a partner in the west-end firm of Lithgow Pepper & Eldridge, prior to merging that firm with Radcliffes around 8 years ago, Stephen has experience in running a small two-partner firm, as well as a mid-tier law firm.
Emma Jones is the founder and Editor in Chief of Electra, a media platform that aims to interview women in the entertainment industry differently - based upon their career and talents, rather than age, bodies and relationships.
Emma also works with BBC News as an arts and culture specialist, and is a public speaking coach. Last year she gave a TED talk on how distorted perspectives in the media have damaged female confidence. No wonder it's been historically hard to ask for a pay rise when girls have been subconsciously taught that their first roles in life are to be attractive, and to please.
