Many congratulations to James Parkinson, Restructuring Advisory Manager, who recently won the Turnaround Management Association NextGen ‘Professional of the Year’ award at the 2018 TMA conference. James comments: “I am delighted to receive this award. It’s great for me and the RSM team to receive recognition from our turnaround peers for the cutting edge work we’ve undertaken in the last twelve months.”

James has been with RSM for almost 10 years, starting his career with the firm in Hull before moving to Bahrain on a two year off-shore assignment as the RSM man on the ground supporting the administrators of a large Bahrain-based investment bank. On his return to the UK James transferred to the London office where he is now a key member of the Restructuring Advisory team.

A particular focus of his recent work has been the development and implementation of RSM’s ‘Standby Service’ with Restructuring Advisory Partner, Damian Webb. The Standby Service provides a back-up service for the fast-growing alternative finance marketplace, stepping in to ensure an orderly run-off of the loan book in the event of a funder’s failure. James’ work has contributed to the rapid growth of client numbers.

Phillip Sykes, London head of Restructuring Advisory, nominated James for the award, commenting that: “James thoroughly deserves this award. He brings a keen intelligence to his work, is always 100% committed and is exactly the sort of young professional we need in Restructuring Advisory”
