TMA UK NOW celebrated International Women’s Day

On 9th March 2023 TMA UK NOW celebrated International Women’s Day together with over 70 restructuring and turnaround professionals.

They welcomed guest speaker Mary Fellowes, CEO and founder of GreenWith Studio Ltd.  Mary’s talk guided us through her career as a magazine editor and global tastemaker and considered how sustainability could be solved through female leadership.

She spoke about how her work in fashion eventually led to her wanting to help make a difference – hence the startup of her business, a sustainable impact agency, which helps responsible businesses to design strategies to improve and communicate their positive actions.

What did we learn?

• How having an environmental, social and governance framework within a business will have a positive effect on sustainability.
• There is still some way to go before men and women will have equality in many businesses/industries.
• We should recognise the qualities that women in leadership roles can bring to a business particularly where sustainability is concerned i.e., courage, risk taking, resilience, agility, managing ambiguity etc.
• We are all responsible for the environment and can make a difference by the choices that we make.
  
   

The session was followed by plenty of networking, drinks and canapes kindly hosted by Kroll.
