As my two years of Presidency draw to a close I am reminded of the commitment I made on being elected - “Thought Leadership and Networking” along with leaving TMA in a better shape than I inherited it were key thoughts in my mind.
As we reach the end of 2018, I wanted to share with you the positivity of TMA.
The TMA UK brings together professionals from across the UK, Europe and worldwide to meet, network and hear the latest news within business recovery, corporate turnaround and restructuring.
During my tenure as your President, TMA UK held 71 events and attracted over 4700 attendees. The UK annual conferences were sold out once again, with over 300 delegates
Networking events have been varied including educational, inspirational, social events, axe throwing and even a little bit of Salsa.
London monthly events continue to attract over 100 delegates with the January 2019 event sold out at the beginning of December. Regional events attract 50+.
Our annual Christmas lunch again was another sell out event with over 100 guests.
We now have 33 sponsors / corporate members. In 2018 TMA UK gained 114 new members and 4 new sponsors. Our Voice in the market is large.
Our sponsors are the well-known restructuring businesses but also include new entrants. I have tried to make the TMA a broad church so that we are relevant to every area around restructuring. We are a member orientated body.
During the last 2 years we drove deeper connectivity via social media, events and regional boards. There are now over 90 regional board members including those working for National and nextGen. Brighton / South East is our newest board and will be announced in early 2019.
NextGen is growing and we will see our first joint TMA UK & nextGen half day conference take place in June 2019.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as your President and know the TMA is in safe hands with our new President Peter Stevens. I will be committed to helping him over the next couple of years.
Finally I could not have achieved so much without the help and commitment of Nyree and Kelly and the unpaid efforts of my fellow directors.
Enjoy the Christmas break and I look forward to seeing you in 2019.
Andrew J Pepper
