Matthew is an associate in the insolvency and restructuring team at Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP, which sits within the firm’s wider commercial dispute resolution team. He specialises in insolvency and restructuring related matters.While primarily working on contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters, alongside the firm’s head of restructuring and insolvency, Matthew also assists on a variety of other matters, including complex contractual disputes and high-value debt recovery work. Matthew regularly assists in advising boards of directors, where insolvency concerns arise or where a solvent wind-down is being considered, as well as frequently advising insolvency practitioners and creditors of distressed entities in a commercial manner to maximise recovery.Matthew joined Penningtons Manches Cooper in 2019 from a regional UK law firm and is the first person to have qualified as a solicitor whilst at the firm via the Solicitors Qualifying Examination route.
